Avengers: Endgame Writers Reveal YouTuber's Were The Inspiration Behind These 2 Avenger's Designs

Avengers Endgame director's Joe and Anthony Russo hosted the "We Love You 3000" Tour a few weeks ago, in honor of Avengers: Endgame becoming the highest grossing movie of all time. The event took place in Illinois, and over 500 million marvel fans attended, including Robert Downey Jr. himself. During the event. The Russo brother's where asked by a fan if Killmonger's(Michael B. Jordan's villain in Black Panther) costume was modeled after Dragon Ball Z character Vegeta, a question that many fans had asked Jordan himself after the films release.

According to Insider, Joe Russo confirmed that Killmonger's costume did in fact take inspiration from the Dragon Ball Z character, as Marvel has had a history with drawing details from other characters in film and tv to design their take on character's in the MCU.

Russo's brother Anthony followed up explaining that a lot of the Avenger's on screen designs have taken inspiration from other characters in media, including Bucky Barnes's Winter Soldier look in Captain America: Civil War, as his costume was inspired by war hero The Manchurian Candidate. Tony Stark actually references it in them film by calling him Manchurian Candidate at one point.

Russo then went on to explain that 2 other key Avengers looks were actually inspired by YouTuber's, Ronin and Captain Marvel. he revealed that Clint Barton's Ronin costume in Avengers's Endgame was actually heavily inspired by YouTube Star Ninja's Ninjak character.

"One of our writers...Brandon, is actually a really big YouTube fan, like he watches a lot of YouTuber's...So, initially when we were talking about how Ronin you know was going to look and we were pitching ideas, he showed us uh Ninja...on YouTube and he showed us his Ninjak character and we really liked the design...like a lot, so we took um inspiration from it...and you know we played around with it and we made some like tweeks here and there and...then we had our Ronin and it was great." Russo revealed that NInja's Ninjak was a big inspiration in designing Hawkeye's Ronin costume for Endgame.

Russo went on to reveal that Captain Marvel also drew inspiration from a YouTuber during development. "With Captain Marvel um, it was the same thing because...back when we started shooting the solo movie we were discussing how her power was going to look on screen because...you know we...we've done so many power effects for different characters and cosmic beings that we...we didn't want to just use the same effect for her because, you know she's different, she's the most powerful being in the Marvel universe and...you know she's Kree mixed with the power of an Infinity stone so...you know we were thinking like how can we make her power look different then...you know what we've already done and so...Brandon showed us...i think his name is Mega...Megamillioncomix i think...pretty cool guy um...he showed us his uh...his logo, Megaman logo and...it's really cool because it has like...the power in his like hands and eyes are different colors...like blue and orange or yellow i think and we thought it was really cool its really unique so...that's initially when we got the idea to...make her power different colors like her eyes and hands light up a blueish color while the rest of her body resonates an orangish redish kind of color...so it's really cool how we can draw idea's from other characters in TV and Movies and YouTube you know... and kind of play with it and make our own thing with it...so its really cool."

Russo revealed that YouTube star Megamillioncomix's Megaman's unique design gave inspiration for Captain Marvel's power portayal on the big screen. he went on to express how amazing it is to be able to draw inspiration from other sources and characters and mold what turned out to be a masterpiece out of it. Avengers Endgame is the highest grossing movie of all time, racking in billions in the box office, and setting the record for highest rated movie ever made. Endgame is now available on Disney plus, now with all deleted scenes and commentary as well as highlights from the "We Love You 3000" tour as well as a message from Robert Downey Jr.
