Marvel fans may be getting a chance to see their departed heroes again. After the devastating events of Avengers: Endgame that left us with a one armed Hulk, an overweight Thor, a 112 year old Steve Rogers, a depressed Clint Barton, a deceased Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff, and a pretty much disbanded Avengers team, fans were sure that the future of the MCU is now a dead beat. but recent news has just confirmed that hope may not be lost, as fans may be getting the chance to see their dead/old heroes return for the future of the MCU, though with some slight makeovers.
An insider for We Got This Covered revealed that plans for "Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness", releasing in 2022, will include other-earth versions of past Marvel characters being brought into the current MCU earth, Earth 616. It was reported that the heroes appearing from throughout the multiverse will include: Captain America, Black Widow, Gamora, and - yes you guessed it - Iron Man. The 3 Avengers members will be returning to the MCU, however with a twist - as they will not be the Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson versions we've come to love. instead, they will be younger versions of the heroes, played by younger actors. This will most likely play into the "New Avengers" movie reportedly in the works for Phase 4 of the MCU. The alternate earth versions of the Avengers will be brought in by Doctor Strange, as he will reportedly receive word of a coming war - No, not an Infinity War this time - a Secret War, one that will need the Avengers to stop it.
It is said that the Silver Surfer - Who has been confirmed for a solo movie in the MCU - Will be the one to deliver the message to Strange of an imminent War coming to earth by a being much worse than Thanos - a being from Beyond. This will most likely serve as the set up movie for Secret Wars, Marvel's next big Mega movie revealed to be in he works for Phase 4 by Avengers producer Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers. Secret Wars was an event in the comics that involved a being called the Beyonder, who pitted every hero and villain in the Marvel Universe against each other in a fight to the death. the event was bigger than the entire Infinity Saga itself. Doctor Strange 2 will most likely set up Secret Wars in a big way, with Marvel bringing back original Avengers members to the frey as well as the addition of the Fantastic Four and the X-men, who's MCU movies will also tie into Secret Wars.
The She- Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms Marvel, Blade, and Loki series set to air on the Disney streaming service will also have ties to Secret Wars - and further add more New Avengers to the roster for the New Avengers film. Loki actor Tom Hiddleston confirmed that the show will tie into Secret Wars, as well as explain what happened to the God of Mischief after orbing away with the Tesseract during the time heist in Avengers: Endgame. "Falcon and The Winter Soldier" and "WandaVision" will serve as tie-ins as well. "Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness" will release in theaters in May 2022. New updates as they arrive.
