The YouTube community got a pleasant surprise yesterday, when YouTube announced it's annual YouTuber Of The Month, for August 2020. With only a month left before the YouTube Choice Awards go live in September, YouTube has already been making the rounds, naming select creators as YouTuber of The Month, based on their trending statuses on the platform during a certain month. Last night, the media announced August 2020's YOTM, and it wasn't who fans expected it would be.
YouTube took to Instagram with a post revealing this month's YOTM, and to everybody's surprise, it was none other than superhero personality Megamillioncomix. The star is trending after his recent video displaying a live action adaptation of the Justice League Dark: Apokolips War trailer, which was VERY well edited, as it has now racked up a total of 1.3K views and rising.
After the announcement from YouTube, Fortnite streamer and former YOTM Ninja, shared the news on Twitter, congratulating the star for his achievement. "Congrats on YOTM Megamillioncomix! You deserve it! Happy to pass the torch to you my man!" Blevins cheered.
Ninja held the title in July, after snagging it from Tuber Marshmello, who wore the crown in June. Chambers's win makes him the first YouTuber under 1,000 subscribers to ever wear the title. The YouTube Choice Awards coming next month will see Chambers in nomination for 3 awards, along with his mother Ladyalpha, who was nominated for an award alongside her and Chambers's good friend YouTuber Lilly Singh. The Awards are set to stream on YouTube, on September 15th 2020. Winners will receive their awards by mail accordingly.
